Fundraising Garden Guidelines

Gardens are established to raise funds, create awareness, and support for cancers that affect women. Each garden plants seeds of hope and beautifies the community. There are four size fundraising gardens to choose from. Please choose the garden size you feel most appropriate for the space you wish to plant and for the funds you feel you will be able to raise.

  • There is a minimum fundraising requirement for each garden
  • The minimum is determined by the size of the garden
  • If the fundraising minimum is not met by June 1, 2012, the credit card used to register the garden will be charged the difference between the amount raised and the fundraising goal for the size garden selected at registration.

If you prefer to purchase bulbs without a fundraising requirement, visit our ecommerce store. Bulbs purchased from our store are still eligible for planting in community and public gardens. Click here to continue to Fundraising Garden registration.

Choose your garden size

There are three levels of fundraising gardens:

  • Tribute Garden: $25.00 Registration Fee
300 Bulbs, includes garden fundraising website,
two signs, and a press release
    Fundraising minimum of $600
  • Community Garden: $25.00 Registration Fee
500 Bulbs, includes garden fundraising website,
two signs, and a press release.
    Fundraising minimum of $1000
  • Acre of Pink: $25.00 Registration Fee
1000 Bulbs, includes garden fundraising website,
three signs, and a press release.
    Fundraising minimum of $2000

Choose a spot

Your garden can be in your own backyard, but fundraising may be easier if your tulips bloom in a public space - local park, school, health care center or green space at a local business. It can be small - around a town flagpole, or big - the whole town green.

Contact the owner of the space - make the hospital administrator, parks director, or business owner your partner in the project.

Consider creating a garden team

  • Ask friends, colleagues, or community groups to help plan, fundraise and plant the garden.
  • Ask each volunteer to tell their friends about the garden.
  • Set an overall garden fundraising goal.

Plan your garden

We recommend that a garden have 5 bulbs per square foot. (A 6x10 garden equals 60 square feet and would hold 300 tulips.)

Register your fundraising garden on the Pink Tulip Project website

You will become the "head gardener" and will be the contact person for Maine Cancer Foundation.
