Pink Tulip Project

Overview

Picture of Robin and her nurse Carolyn MurphyFounded in 2006 by breast cancer survivor Robin Whitten, the Pink Tulip Project raises money and awareness for Maine Cancer Foundation through gardens of pink tulips planted across the state.

The Pink Tulip Project started as one garden in Robin’s yard in Portland, Maine. Today, flowers are blooming in hundreds of gardens across the state, symbolizing hope for those suffering from cancer and raising awareness in communities everywhere. The project has raised over $200,000 since its inception, 100% of which has been donated to the Women's Cancer Fund at Maine Cancer Foundation.

Pink Tulip Project gardens are planted in October, and bloom the following May. Bulbs can be ordered and gardens can be registered beginning in June for fall planting. Please note that fundraising gardens need to be re-registered each year and funds can be raised to support the gardens from June to May.

The Pink Tulip Project continues to grow. The 2011 season was another successful season witho over 30,000 bulbs bursting into bloom! Bulbs for the 2012 season are now available, click here to purchase.
